Service Options

Sample Preparation and Screening

If your organisation lacks in-house laboratories or requires advanced sample preparation facilities, Diamond offers a range of comprehensive solutions. Our research laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation and support facilities to enable you to prepare and validate samples before experiments, streamlining your research projects.

We offer lab facilities across a wide range of science areas, so if you are looking for additional support for example in pre-screening samples, in protein crystallisation and crystal harvesting, or in the handling, storage and manipulation of active materials, we are happy to help.

Data Collection

Our data collection service provides a variety of flexible access options tailored to your needs and schedule. Whether you’d like our team to conduct the experiment or you’re an experienced researcher who prefers a DIY approach, our data collection services can accommodate you. Regardless of your experience level, our skilled specialists are available to guide you in your experimental planning and offer ongoing technical support as needed.

Contract Research

Our Contract Research service allows you to acheive maximum value from your experiment, whilst saving time.

After completing paperwork, simply send us your samples and our expert scientists handle the work, allowing you to focus on other research priorities.
As well as data collection, we go a step further by analysing the experimental data and providing you with a comprehensive report of the findings.

You also have the option to observe the experiment in action. Your involvement can be as minimal or as extensive as you prefer.

Access modes

Self Service

If you’re an experienced researcher in your chosen technique or have a complex experiment you’d prefer to conduct with your own team, you may wish to simply consider renting time on Diamond’s research instruments.  As with all of our services, our team is available to provide advice, technical support, and guidance throughout your experiment.

Mail in

Our mail-in option is an ideal choice for quick, efficient results while saving time and resource.

Perfect for routine measurements, you will benefit from our industry team’s expertise and access to cutting-edge instruments, without the need to master the technology.

Simply send us your samples, and we’ll handle the data collection. You’ll receive a concise report with all key experimental data for easy analysis.

Remote

Our remote access option offers the flexibility to gather data from virtually anywhere.

Our expert team of scientists will load your samples, enabling you to remotely control the instrument via Diamond’s network for data collection. This eliminates the need to travel, saving on costs, and maximising your experimental time.

An added advantage is the ability for multiple participants to join the experiment, distributing the workload and broadening the expertise applied to the research. Speak to our team to see if remote access is suitable for your experiment.

Collaboration

If your project is exploratory or venturing into a new domain and needs extra input or is likely to need a longer-term approach, why not consider a collaboration with Diamond?

Many of our industrial partners engage directly with Diamond and its staff through studentships, post-doctoral research associates, and long-term projects and grants. Others opt for smaller-scale collaborations, like applying for peer-reviewed beamtime, possibly aiming to familiarise themselves with a technique, conduct a proof-of-concept experiment, or publish a paper. Get in touch to discuss how we could add value to your project.
